Slow Cooker Beef and Broccoli Recipe

I got this recipe from www.cookingclassy.com. Here are all the ingredients you will need.
First you need to make your broth mixture. You will need 1 cup of broth, you can use low salt.
1/2 cup of soy sauce. You can use low salt. I don't but I also don't add any extra salt when asked for.
 1 tablespoon of sesame oil.
1/3 cup slightly packed brown sugar. Recipe calls for dark. I didn't have any.
3 cloves garlic, minced. I just used a heaping teaspoon of pre-minced.
Mix all of that together in a bowl or large measuring cup. Add salt and black pepper to taste. I didn't add any salt just the black pepper.
You will need 1 1/2 pound chuck roast.
You will need to slice it into thin 1 1/2 long strips.
Put the meat into your pot.
1/2 yellow, sliced into two portions.
Add the onion into the pot.
Add your liquid mixture.  Cover with lid and cook on low heat 2 1/2- 3 1/2 hours, until meat has cooked through.
Prepare your broccoli about 3 cups of florets.
Ladle out 1/4 cup of the broth from slow cooker and pour into a bowl. Add 2 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch and whisk until smooth then return broth mixture to slow cooker and gently stir.
Add in broccoli pieces and cover slow cooker with lid, then increase to high heat and cook 20 minutes longer, or until broccoli is tender and sauce has thickened slightly. You can steam the broccoli first if you like.
Remove onion pieces. I left the onion in because most of us like onions.
I served it over rice. This is a complete meal. We enjoyed it. Hope you give this recipe a try.
