How to make a plastic canvas bookmark

First, I learned how to make these bookmarks years ago in a primary sharing time at church. This is really simple that a child can do it. These are the supplies you will need. You will 1/8" ribbon. Make sure it is a smooth type and not ribbed, plastic canvas needle, scissors, and of course plastic canvas.
You will need to cut the plastic canvas to the size you want. These are about 8-12 inches tall and 6 rows across
Now you need to cut your ribbon. For the smaller bookmark the ribbon is 11" and the taller one the ribbon is16". Of course, this will change depending on the size of your bookmark and if you want the ribbon to dangle. You will need to cut enough for each row.
Now to start you will need to thread your needle.
Now onto making your bookmark. You will be weaving your ribbon in and out of the canvas. Make sure the ribbon is straight and not twisted. When you start the weaving make sure you leave a little as you begin so you have something to hold onto.
Once you get all the ribbon weaved into the canvas you want to make sure the ends are even. So just trim them to the length you like.
Here is is with trimmed ends.
Don't forget the other side.

 Here is the finished bookmark.

June Vacation 2023

Early this month we went to Utah. The reason for this quick trip is because our middle daughter was having her wedding reception. She got married in August of 2022, but it was a busy time of year for her, she is a teacher and wanted to be able to have her family help her celebrate. These are the pictures I took during the day of celebration. This picture is of my son-in-law and my youngest grandson; they belong to my oldest daughter. They flew down from Conn.
My two sons-in-law.
My daughter being walked by her Dad.
Redoing their vows.
Putting the rings on.
Same.
The kiss.
Their cake.
Oldest daughter and her family.
The newest family unit.
Newest family with parents.
My Dad walking through as I take the picture.
Newest family, parents and Grandparents.
Same.
My two youngest grandsons coloring.
My middle daughter placed her daughter with a wonderful family, and this is the family. They have become a part of our family also. I am glad that they came to celebrate this day with us.
Getting ready to cut the cake.
Cutting the cake.
I couldn't get the picture fast enough as they fed each other a piece. There was no mess.
My parents with all the great grandchildren. The two youngest ones wouldn't stay without their mom.
The next day we went to the farmer's market and right next to it was a splash pad. The youngest grandson really loved this.
He was having a blast.
The last 15 minutes of the hour the water is turned off but there is a little park close by for the children to go and play. He loved this slide.
Both of the grandsons going down the slide. The older of the two wasn't a fan of the slide.
Having a blast.
Not so much but really enjoying Grandpa.
He wasn't as sure of the water as his younger cousin. It took us a while to get this far.
Finally getting into it.
Having fun in the water.
He just loves splashing in the water.
Getting more into the water. Yes, we put sunscreen on him.
More water time.

I took this picture right after he got a big splash in his face.

We had a lot of fun with all the children. It was the first time that all the grandchildren were together. Not all my children were able to come because of work or looking for work. The time will come again when this will happen. It was a great visit and I wish I had more vacation time to able to stay longer.

David's High School Graduation

David and his cousin graduated high school on Saturday the 27th of May. The JROTC with the colors opened the ceremony.

David is behind the three gold gowns I will try to get a closer picture, but it is blurry.

Not a very good close up but it was the best I could do. I accidently deleted the picture of him receiving his diploma.

David with his cap and gown and his diploma. I have a better photo.

Here is the better photo.

David and his Grandparents Ansley. They came up from Utah to see him graduate.

David with Mike and myself. This was a long trip for him, and we are so proud of him.

You are probably wondering why there is another name on the cake along with David's. Well, he graduated with his cousin, and we wanted to honor them both.

The two newest high school graduates in the Payne Family. Kydon and David. We are so proud of both of you. Here is to the future.
