September 11

Sixteen years ago today the twin towers fell.
Where were you?
I was working at a shipping from 8am to 6 pm.
I didn't hear about the event until customers came in and told me.
The first thing I did was call the schools to see if I needed to pick up the kids. They told that they were safe there and that they didn't need to be picked up.
I was kept update by customers and a radio that the shop had.
When I got off I went to my parents house because that is where my kids were and I watched the news.
I didn't have a TV or internet at my house so that is where I watched it.
When we got home I did have a radio and we listened for updates.
I know no one will forget that date if they were old enough to hear about it.
Aryan and David weren't born yet so they can only hear about from everyone else.
Aryan asked us about that for his history class. His teacher wanted them to ask what we were doing when 9-11 occurred.
I just wanted to write about what I was doing when the towers came down to help remember thata dreadful day.

Aryan

As you know Aryan is now a Freshman in high school. So what does that entail for him  and for us. For him it means a lot more homework and needing to stay on top of things better and keeping his grades up. For us it means it is time to get him a cell phone. I was dreading this day not as much when he will begin driving, but one step at a time. High School is a busy for him because he is involved in several things already. He is in TSA (Technology Student Association) and student council and I finally got tired of relaying messages to him that was texted to me. So Mike and I broke down on Saturday and bought him a phone. He knows how we feel about phones in the schools and that he has to keep his grades at a 3.5 GPA or better. We know he can do this. He is also taking a few honor classes which means a lot of group projects.
It is hard to believe that he has grown so fast and is in high school. So many memories of him being little and just starting school and now he only has four years before he is off to college.
He is good kid and we love him dearly.

Baby Gift Ideas

I just thought I would let you know what I give out as a baby gift.
This can very on what I have on hand.
I try real hard to always have something at home to give out.
A lot of what is pictured above I have made myself.
I also picked up a few things from the dollar store, but I enjoy making things for the new little ones.
I am also willing to make and then sale them to anyone interested. I will ship them to you but will have to charge you the shipping. If you are interested just post me a comment and I will contact you.
Until next time.
