Last Day of school

I know that I posted this photo on Instagram and facebook already but wanted to write about it in the blog.
Aryan graduated from 8th grade this year and will be a Freshman next year. He made the honor roll the first semester and the merit roll the second semester.

David made the merit roll both semesters at school.

Here are a few videos of the ceremony of the graduation and awards given out the last day.

I hope this one shows up.

Same with this one.

We are very grateful for the school doing these awards. The boys enjoy getting them and have worked hard this year.

Memorial Day Tradition

Our yearly tradition of placing flags on Veterans graves.
The last two years it has been easy to place the flags because it has rained and the made the ground soft. Aryan is pictured above. I was with him, David was with a friend of mine. I am still waiting for his picture but wanted to get this posted.

There were several groups placing flags on this day. Here is part of the C.A.R group. This group isn't very big. We also had the DAR ladies and the 4-H kids. It is always fun to do this with the kids. Aryan was asking me about some of the information on the headstones. I was surprise that I could answer some of them for him and what I didn't know we asked someone else. Most of his questions were on the ranks which are abbreviated. It was a great day.

Utah Continue

Here is my oldest grandson at the park.

She is the reason for us being in Utah. Miss K was being baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. When one becomes 8 years old they can be baptized. This is Michael with his oldest child.

Here are Michael, Rachel and K after her baptism.
The baptism went well and was well attended. She had a lot of family to see her on her big day.

K opening her baptism present from Grandma and Grandpa Payne.

Youngest grandchild. Mr. J loving his orange creamsicle. He sat there enjoying it. He didn't attempt to get down, he just sat there and ate. Oh, and he doesn't like share.
Miss H at the park.

Mr. C at the park. He loves the slides. He saw this slide and ran to it.

Utah Trip

Books I bought at the church bookstore. We don't have one close to us in Colorado.
I always go here when I am in the area.

Books I bought at the DI (this is like a thrift store). My Friend Flicka and the book above were repeat buys. Didn't realize I already had these books at home. Again another place I visit every time we go to Utah.

Books that Ashley gave to David and myself. Aryan received some books also but he left them behind so they aren't  in this picture. He will get them when Becca comes in July.

Books my mom gave me. She always has a stack of books for me to read.

More books from mom.

This trip was suppose to be a time for me to spend with all my Grandchildren since they were all going to be in the area. We had a big day for Michael's oldest and we made sure we were there. Unfortunately I ended up getting really sick so didn't get to spend the time like I wanted. I did get a little time with them. Most of my trip was spent in bed. Not one of our better trips. The boys got to miss a week of school, but still had to do the homework that was given to them. The boys enjoy going because Grandma and Grandpa have cable TV. Yes that means we don't have cable can't see spending that much money on nothing to much to watch.  We do have internet so we keep up with local events and what is going on around the world and in our own country.
Until next time.
